Brisbane

by emkevans @ 2007-06-10 - 10:22:27

Hello guys - just a quick update to those of you who are using this site and not Facebook.
Have been in Brisbane for a week now and the weather has been pretty good. On Tuesday it tipped it down with rain which I wasnt too happy about but everyone else was raving about it because they are in a drought at the moment. But this weekend has been really good weather - blue skies and scorching sun with a nice breeze.
So have been into the City but didnt manage to see all the sights as I was arranging boring things like bank accounts so will go bak again next week. Have been to Cleveland - a pretty little suburb right on the coast with marinas and expensive houses. Also went to the Gold Coast yesterday but again, will be returning there and spending more time at surfers paradise. Today we went to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and also to Mt Cooth-tha where the views were just amazing.
Still got loads to do tho so will keep you posted! Have posted some more photos on Facebook so check them out!
Hope everyone is well and enjoying the UK!!! Lots of Love xxxxxxx

Singapore

by emkevans @ 2007-06-02 - 08:30:59

Spent 2 days in Singapore - really liked it. City was amazing - so many cultural aspects. Visited Chinatown and Little India. Also had lunch on the Singapore River, right next to the MerLion (Singapore's signature statue). And saw the famous Raffles Hotel.

People are very friendly and the city itself is extremely clean. Are very concerned with cleanliness and aesthetics - everywhere you walk there are shrubs and flowers and palm trees, even amongst the middle of the highway!

Climate is very hot - 30oC and is really humid too. Managed toget sunburnt even tho it was cloudy.

Fave spot? Hard to choose but prob Raffles Hotel - is just amazing.
